Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 6 cloves garlic fine-chopped
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 Tbsp rice vinegar

Instructions

  • Finely chop the garlic and set it aside.
  • Melt the butter along with the sesame oil over medium heat.
  • Add the garlic and saute it for about a minute. Keep a close eye on the pot to make sure the garlic doesn't burn.
  • Stir in the soy sauce and honey and cook for another 3 minutes.
  • Stir in the rice vinegar and take the pot off the stove.
  • Set the sauce aside and let it cool off for 10 minutes.
  • Transfer the sauce into a large bowl and toss the chicken wings in it.
  • Serve the wings while they're still warm.

Notes

Since this sauce uses butter as a base, it will get thicker the longer it sits out.
That's why it's a good idea to start making it halfway through the cooking process of the chicken wings.
For me, this is about 20 minutes before I have to take out the wings from the oven (I already have the garlic chopped at that point).
Likewise, you should serve the chicken wings while the sauce is still warm.
